Dr Wreesmann completed medical school and general otorhinolaryngology (ENT) training in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Next, he was licensed as a physician in the United States, where he trained and worked for 6 years as a cancer surgeon and scientist at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He then moved to the United Kingdom, where he worked for 7 years as a Consultant ENT-Head and Neck Surgeon within the National Health Service (NHS). In March 2022, he relocated with his family to Andorra where he sees patients at Clínica Omega Zeta. He continues his work in the UK, where he holds a position as honorary consultant ENT surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals. Dr Wreesmann is a driven academic and author of many scientific papers and surgical textbook chapters, published in the international medical literature (available on PUBMED and Google). He currently serves on the editorial board of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology, the official communication of ESSO, Europe’s largest association of cancer surgeons. As part of this work, he is a regular reviewer of scientific manuscripts, academic theses, and international research projects and has been a course director of several international medical conferences.

Dr Wreesmann favours a holistic and integrative approach to medicine, and offers a multidisciplinary solution wherever this is in the best interest of his patients. In order to achieve this, he works in close collaboration with nutritionists, dieticians, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, endocrinologists, dermatologists, dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, neurologists, respiratory physicians, infectious disease specialists and family practitioners, some of whom are available at Clínica Omega Zeta. Dr Wreesmann values a straightforward, open, honest, empathic, and non-judgmental interaction with his patients. He aims to empower his patients, in order to optimize their independence, self-determination and autonomy. Within this context, he provides a balanced assessment of all risks and benefits of diagnostic and treatment options in order to be able to compare them accurately. This process is not only guided by the strengths but also the limitations of available scientific and practical knowledge, in order to create a solution which is tailored to the individual situation.

At Clínica Omega Zeta, Dr Wreesmann is happy to see both adults and children and aims to offer patients a same day diagnosis and treatment plan wherever possible. This is facilitated by the use of state-of-the art equipment to aid resolution of your problem. This may include in-office endoscopy of the nose, throat and oesophagus/stomach, and several other procedures which can be performed under local anaesthesia in the clinic. For patients with more complicated problems, or patients that require surgery, Dr Wreesmann has established (surgical) privileges at Centre Mèdic i Quirúrgic (Andorra), Hospital Nostra Senyora de Meritxell (Andorra), IMO Grupo Miranza (Barcelona), and Hospital Universitari Dexeus (Barcelona), where he may either refer you for more indebt diagnostics, or perform your surgery. Dr Wreesmann is a big proponent of second opinions in medicine and surgery, and will not hesitate to offer you one, in case your medical problem is outside his area of expertise. Dr Wreesmann runs clinics 5 days a week, some of which are planned in the evenings. For international patients, or patients who are not in a position to come to the clinic, Dr Wreesmann is available for virtual counselling as well, which can be requested on an individual basis.

Dr. Karin Oomen specializes in ear, nose, and throat problems in children of all ages, ranging from infants to young adults. As a fellowship-trained pediatric ENT surgeon, I have many years of experience diagnosing and treating children’s ENT conditions. Services I provide include hearing loss, recurrent ear infections, recurrent upper airway infections such as tonsillitis, snoring and sleep apnea in children, voice problems, and many more. Caring for children, and helping them achieve the very best start in life, is a task I am grateful for and do not take lightly. As a mother of two, I am well aware of the stress it may cause parents to seek medical help for their children, how difficult it can be to trust another person with your child and letting them make decisions about their health. Medical examinations can be frightening to children, especially when small orifices such as the ears, nostrils and throat are involved. This is why I am devoted to helping children in a friendly way that helps take away their natural anxiety and sets them at ease. A crucial element in achieving this is taking time to gain trust and build a solid relationship. When children trust their caregiver, they are more likely to cooperate with examinations, which then become more successful. Better examinations lead to more accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment, the end result of which is an improved outcome.

I recognize the importance of parents knowing their child best. Any changes in a child’s health or behavior reported by their parents or caretakers, I take very seriously. My aim is to make your and your child’s consultation as interactive as possible, so we can pick up on every available clue about your child’ s condition to improve their diagnosis and outcome. After all, ‘mother (father/caretaker) knows best!’

I also treat adults with general ear-, nose and throat problems. My areas of special interest in adults are sinus problems and voice problems (benign laryngology). Because of my affinity with children and their special communication needs, adult patients with developmental delay, high anxiety and/or fear of doctors are also very welcome in my practice.

I completed medical school and general otorhinolaryngology training in The Netherlands. In 2011, I was licensed as a physician in the United States, where I trained for 2 years as a fellow in pediatric otorhinolaryngology and surgery of the pediatric airway at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. Subsequently, I worked for 5 years as a Consultant ENT-Head and Neck Surgeon in the United Kingdom within the National Health Service. Besides my registration in Andorra, I am registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the United Kingdom and continue to be GMC accredited. I have (co)authored many scientific papers and medical textbooks chapters and am involved in ongoing research projects in order to stay abreast with scientific, clinical and surgical progress in my field.
